Treatment of Hepatitis C virus by understanding the Co-relation between Chronic HCV infection and occurrence of B-NHL

Pravasini Sethi

Hepatitis C virus infection is probably the most common chronic viral infection and affects people worldwide around 180 million of the global population. It has clearly demonstrated through Epidemiological studies that there is a correlation between chronic HCV infection and occurrence of B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (B-NHL). This chronic infection often leads to liver cirrhosis, HCC (Hepatocellular Carcinoma) in many patients. Although there is no direct treatment for the disease, the antiviral therapy has a significant role in the treatment. At least for some HCV-associated lymphoproliferative disorders, especially indolent B-NHL, which further supports the existence of an pathogenetic link. With reference to many clinical studies, the prevalence of HCV in patients with B-NHL is observed to have a high rate compared to other. The purpose of this study is to minimize the risk factor associated with the patients having chronic infection with B-NHL cells and with further study developing a treatment. Therefore, this treatment can reduce the incidence of different malignant diseases, cirrhosis of liver and many other associated diseases caused because of this viral infection.
